Independent Auditors LLP has been established to provide a support service to small and medium sized accountancy firms. The increase in the audit turnover threshold together with the introduction of International Auditing Standards has led many firms to consider outsourcing audit work.

Independent Auditors has evolved from Stewart Associates Shrewsbury Ltd, a Chartered Accountancy practice based in Shrewsbury who considered the most efficient way of servicing audit clients in light of the legislative changes. Outsourcing audit work is an attractive option and having made enquiries in the spring of 2005 we were unable to find such a service. There are many firms offering outsourced accountancy services and the only option identified for audit work was in South Africa.

Jon Dale BA, ACA left a top 20 firm where he specialised in audit to head the audit team at Independent Auditors. As a specialist in audit work Jon is completely up to date with changing audit requirements and can plan and undertake an audit assignment in a highly efficient manner. Jon is now a partner and the main point of contact in the firm.

Our objective is to enable small accountancy practices to offer audit and related services to clients without incurring the costs associated with audit registration. We guarantee to have as much or as little direct contact with the audit client as the firm requires, although obviously within the confines enabling us to properly perform the audit. We guarantee not to work for that client other than in the performance of the audit and the introducing firm can maintain its existing relationship without fear of losing the relationship with the client.

We discuss with individual practices whether we sign the audit report enabling the firm to cancel its audit registration or act as an outsourced audit manager undertaking the work to enable the firm to sign the audit report.

We are a small firm and our charge rates recognise this fact and in many situations should enable the introducing firm to apply a mark up if required. We will happily disclose hourly rates if you contact us and will provide a fixed price quotation subject to you providing sufficient information to enable us to prepare a budget.

We have also undertaken related services such as due diligence reports relating to the purchase of business.
